We finally made it to the Hakone Gardens in Saratoga this past weekend. The weather was sunny and the cherry blossoms were beautifully bloomed! Here are a few HDR shots Jeff took:

And an attempt to be artsy with engagement and wedding bling:

It’s a great place to visit on a warm, sunny spring afternoon. It’s also a great place for photography practice! I let Jeff do most of the shooting but I did take a few shots myself – at this point, I’m just trying to learn how to frame good and interesting shots. When I get better at that, I’ll try out the different settings on the camera and take my pictures to the next level, hopefully!
We also stopped by Shanghai Dumpling in Saratoga this weekend. I didn’t get a chance to take pictures but this place is one of my favorites for soup dumplings in the Bay Area. Be sure to make reservations before you go – this place is tiny and it gets packed quickly, even on weeknights. They are one of the few Chinese restaurants that honor reservations!
Hurray for sunny warm Sundays at the gardens!
